We’re glad you’re coming to see us!  Here’s some information that might help you pack.
  • Check In:  2:00 PM. We’re flexible, especially if the suite was not occupied the night before.
  • Check Out:  11:00AM.  Again we’re flexible if the suite is not reserved that night.
  •  Your cell phone/Blackberry/pager may not work here (and that could be a good thing!) We know Verizon, US Cellular and Alltel work and others might also. If you need a cell phone while you are here, we'll loan you ours. We now have DSL Internet and offer free WiFi

 What to bring/do:

  • Misc:
    • Gas up in Morehead City/Beaufort/Havelock or Davis.  There is gas in Atlantic but not on the Island.
    • Bring some cash since there are no Bank ATM’s near by.  The island store now DOES take credit cards and has a private brand ATM.  The restaurant does.  The grocery store in Atlantic does.  There is a Wachovia bank about 15 minutes away, but no ATM there.
    • If desired, buy/bring adult beverages since closest ABC Store is in Beaufort.  Beer is readily available.  “Table wine” is available.
    • If you’re bringing Fido, please make sure the vaccinations are up to date (we trust you).
  • Kitchen:
    • Maybe bring a starter set of meats and veggies.
    • We have stocked the kitchen with spices, flour, condiments, foil, plastic wrap, etc., plus we can loan you things from our stock.  We’ll also start you out with paper towels and napkins.  Dish cloths and towels and dish soap provided.  Dishes, glasses, flatware, cooking utensils, and appliances provided.  Laundry products provided.
    • The restaurant on the Island is very good, serving the freshest of seafood.
  • Bathroom:
    • Toiletries (soap/shampoo) as desired. We’ll provide towels, washcloths, and toilet paper.
  • Bedroom: We provide bed linens, sheets, spreads, blankets, and pillows.
  • Living room: we provide TV, DVD/VCR player, XM radio, cards, games, puzzles, firewood.  We also have a good selection of books (especially mysteries) that you may borrow during your stay.
  • Outside:
    • Bring water shoes…sometimes a stray oyster shell will wash up that can cut feet.
    • Mosquito repellent…sometimes they are pests, sometimes not.
    • Bring sunscreen….the sunny, unpolluted, “Carolina Blue” skies will get you.
    • Binoculars are nice since there are so many different types of birds and waterfowl around, including at our feeders.
    • We have a paddle boat and canoe.  We also have horseshoes and Petanque.
    • Bring any special pool toys or floats…we have some but you might like yours better.  We have beach towels for you.
    • We have a clam rake and some crab pots.  Bring your saltwater fishing gear, if desired.
    • As of 1 January 2007, fishing licenses ARE required!!! You will need a Coastal Recreational Fishing License. Suggest you get yours in advance: see this web page
    • The forums on the NC Waterman web site (http://www.ncwaterman.com/forum/default.asp) have good information on fishing in the area.
