Pelicans Rest Holidays is another venture of the Johnson Family.  It follows an eleven-year startup and operation of the very successful, ZAGAT rated, Bistrot Belgique Gourmande in the Virginia suburbs of Washington, DC.  Our daughter (center) married and moved to Richmond and we were ready to leave the hectic pace of the metropolitan area so we sold the Bistrot to a lovely young lady and retired back to nature on North Carolina’s Outer Banks.  Many of our Bistrot clients begged us to stay in a hospitality business so we decided to start a vacation get away.  We subsequently decided to expand that idea into a stand-alone apartment for a weekly or daily rental and affiliation with friends who have rental homes on or near the ocean.

The other important thing to us is our Pets!  It frustrates us that so many places will not accept well behaved dogs (yet they'll accept ill-behaved people!)  We've found that pet lovers are very nice people so we want to provide luxurious accommodations for both the humans AND pets!

Danièle is a native of Brussels and also lived in Italy for many years.  Steve traveled extensively in Europe with his work before retiring and is very appreciative of European customs and culture.  Danièle speaks English, French, and Italian fluently and some German, Dutch and Spanish.  Danièle also offers cooking lessons during your stay.
